I used my satellite DVR to watch the last episode again. It was still
moving. The ending is so powerful.

I was interested in the scenes with Brenda after pregnancy, where in real
life Rachael Griffiths was still pregnant. They used a lot of shots in the
hospital where the camera was above her waist. In bed she was turned toward
her side and they did something creative with the blanket/sheet to hide the
pregnancy. In one hospital hallway scene she had a large purse hanging in
front of her lower area. One hallway side view had her baggy clothes hide
her shape as she leaned against the wall and window.

In all the threads below, I think the most interesting was the suggestion
that the end scenes are flashbacks from the mind of the 102 year old Claire,
as she is dying.

Someone here had said that Billy looked crazier at the birthday scene of
Willa. Billy was holding a dog and had a cocked head with a crazy look in
his eye. His clothes made me think of a street person.

When Keith is killed the armored car says Charles Security on it. I had not
realized that his last name was Charles and that this was supposed to be his
company. Unfortunately, this doesn't quite make sense. If you own an
armored car company you don't do the driving and such yourself.

My feeling is that Claire lost more than she gained in breaking off a
relationship that was right for building her own family to pursue a career
in a distant city. Surely, there were opportunities in LA. However, her
move did make the form of the show ending possible....

I'm frustrated at the loose end of Maggie and her unborn or unconceived
child.

The ship where Rico dies has some interesting futuristic arch styling toward
the ocean view.

The hospital room where Ruth is dying is oddly lacking in current times
technology. She is not surrounded by monitoring machines. Maybe this is a
correct guess at the future. In Star Trek (original series) the sickbay
beds did all the monitoring without tubes or wires connected all over.

I cancelled my HBO Tuesday.

You do if:

1) You opened the company because you enjoy that sort of work
2) Its a small company and you still drive a truck just like your
employees
3) Its a small company and someone called in sick
4) Its a special job and you wanted to oversee it personally
5) The writers wanted to make your end bittersweet, showing that you'd
sucessfully started your own company, but were killed doing the very
thing you loved.

FWIW, note that at Fisher & Sons and Fisher and Diaz, the owners were the
ones who drove the van, picked up corpses, made up corpses, greeted
mourners, managed the books, and everything else that had to be done.
Other than Rico and the weird guy, we never saw an employee.

Sometimes you have to break free to move ahead and avoid ruts.

oward the ocean view.

Maybe it was a hospice - she was terminally ill/old, and only needed
comforting.

Why would you think Maggie is pregnant? Was the doctor a gynocologist
or obstetrician? I took it as everyday life and the cell phone rings.
What did Maggie do for a living? Maybe she was a drug company rep.

At 102 I would think she'd be on hospice.

To be fair, Cubit did mention the "unconceived child". I believe
he/she's upset that SFU didn't give any hints at all about Maggie and
her post-Nate condition.

Ruth didn't live to 102. That was Claire.

No 'maybe' about that.
