Watched it this past week. Started out terrible. The first few episodes
everyone was whining, it was just annoying. I kept thinking if this was
the first season I wouldn't have made it past the third episode.
Everyone was unlikeable, especially Claire. But it got better the
second half, finishing with a superb series finale. The thing with
everyone's death at the end was brilliant and perfectly done.

Overall I think it's one of the best cable series ever done. Its main
flaw was overuse of the dream/fantasy sequence. It was just getting
annoying thinking "okay, is this real or is this a fantasy?" It was
done way too much, almost like a crutch to fall back on to fill up
space it seemed. The best thing about the show was its cast. Every
actor was superb. That's why the characters will be missed. The cast
meshed well together and every actor did their job perfectly.

Sorry. I assumed everyone here had already seen season five. My bad.

Ruby, believe you me, the ending will *still* be a fascinating,
never-to-be-forgotten experience. There was so much talk about everywhere,
I'm surprised it wasn't spoiled for your earlier.

Who just read a piece by Alan Ball in Entertainment Weekly about SFU

Yeah, I knew about it long before I saw it because everyone WAS talking
about it but I was still enterrtained by it. I just assumed everyone
either knew about it or had seen it already hence my not using the
header "spoilers."

Ummmm.....okay. Now I'm left wondering *who* will be in the car accident:
they can't kill the entire cast, that's for sure. I'll probably be talking
here about the show after Friday evening, when I see the finale.

Well, I just wiped the tear from my cheek. Well done, Alan Ball. Kudos.

When I heard that they all 'died' at the end, I too tried to envision some
massive catastrophe...so the real ending wasn't spoiled for me. I still love
hearing Sia's "Breathe Me"

Whenever I watch the older episodes, it feels weird knowing the outcome to
their lives. Like last nights ep where Nate was going to have the brain
surgery. His mother took a photo of him with baby Maya, which he didn't
like her to do, and her reply was "for when you are old". I thought ahead
to how and when his life ended. The show, and especially the ending had a
profound effect on me.
