Discussion:
Has anyone been unable to watch the ending again?

I just can't bear to watch it again yet. I see lots of folks saying they've
watched it multiple times but I just can't. I'm not ready. I have to put
some space between it and the emotions it brought out before I see it again.

Well if you want to see it, you better do it soon, or tape it. They
probably won't be running it again, or maybe it is too late since a new show
is starting tonight.

It looks like there is going to be a mini-marathon this weekend (Labor
Day weekend), because my TiVo is showing all the eps from this season.

I just it to go into syndication so I can watch it from the first season to
now again... no way I can afford to buy the sets and I checked, my local
library AND video stores dont carry it :(

I hadn't thought of that - syndication. Apparently TBS is running a
sanitized version of "Sex and the City" which had a longer first-run
life than 6FU, but less when you consider that these were 1/2 hour
episodes.

Do you remember when one of HBO's first original "sexy" comedies, Dream On
went into syndication? Every single episode had a totally gratuitous nude
scene. And every single one of those got left on the cutting room floor when
it was syndicated. I can only imagine what they'd {bleep} to do to SFU
{bleep} if syndicators got it, but then each hour-long episode wasn't a full
hour. They could {bleep} and cut out particularly gory scenes and sex
scenes, and then cram in commercials to fill it out to an hour.

Series like these shoot PG versions of the R rated scenes we see on HBO.
Syndicator might edit for time, but nominally they don't have to for
content.

HBO on Demand has the whole final season running, if you get it. I don't
know how long it'll be there. What they put on HBO on Demand changes every
month on some complicated schedule I could never figure out. Assuming you
have digital cable, you could always call your cable company, ask to add HBO
on Demand, tape the whole final season, and then cancel it. It's a buck or
two extra a month. I get ten HBOs, both East and West coast feeds of HBO,
HBO2, and HBO Signature, plus HBO Family, HBO Zone, and two of them also in
Spanish, plus the HBO on demand (movies / series / specials).. for $9.95 a
month as a package deal. On top of the bajillion dollars I already pay the
cable company for all the basic tiers, the Digital box, the remote control,
RoadRunner cable, and a dozen different taxes and surcharges. Just looking
at the monthly bill is enough to make me scream. But cable companies are
funny. In almost every case where they've offered something extra as a
freebie for regular customers, like, we'll give you Showtime free for three
months, when I call to cancel it, they say we'll give you another free three
months. Although they're regulated to some extent, they can also cut you
slack on your bill if you sweet talk them. I've never asked for anything
free, just been offered it when I called to cancel some option they had
given me free for a few months, which tells me their profit margin must be
astronomical. It's as if you went to some restaurant regularly and they
decided to give you free meals for a few months, or your usual gas station
said hey thanks for being a regular customer, your next three tanks full are
on us. That'll be the day.

But it's not costing them one extra cent to give you free showtime...gas
however is a tangible thing and is going to cost the supplier lots of
money to just give you a few free months...more than they'd even make
out of you.

A note about libraries and Dvds ... If your branch doesn't carry
something:

1. Ask if it might be available at another branch. Many library systems
in larger areas have online databases where you can check it out
yourself. In my library system, you won't find the most desirable dvds
on the shelf EVER. They're on hold for someone who ordered them.
2. Ask if an adjoining county's system has the dvds you want and if
there is a "on loan" program with that county. Often there is and they
will ship the dvds to your local branch.
3. Some systems even belong to a larger state-wide, regional, or
nationwide exchange co-op.
4. Ask your librarian if you can suggest them for purchase. I've gotton
many from my system that way.

Good luck!

LOL. Get over yourself, sonny. I don't need your advice nor, I suspect,
does anyone over the age of 12.

I WinMX'd it, as I do most of my favorite shows. How I'm going to get
myself to watch it, that's a different story...
