I loved last night's episode so much I couldn't sleep. I literally
tossed and turned to the tune of "Breathe Me" playing in my head, over
and over. I cried a bit when I watched the series finale, it was so
good. No joke.

No kidding! I tivo'd back to the last 3 minutes because I thought
those were some of the best 3 minutes ever in television. I had
trouble falling asleep too!

I did too. My mind wouldn't shut off Keith's death, although as time passed
the others deaths came flooding back. I really can't tell you what parts it
just kept going through my mind while I was awake and when it was going
through my mind asleep. I was ever a huge fan of SFU, like I am of the
Sopranos or the Simpsons, but this was an incredible finish.

You're not alone...if I didn't dream about the ep, I was awake
thinking about it. I can't think of any series whose finale has had
this much impact.

I think I was up and down 20 times last nite. I'm totally exhausted today,
and for some reason my eyes just welling up. It's funny, because none of my
friends watch the show, so this has been the only place I could vent. I've
never been affected this way by a single TV show.

The only other hour of television that had even close to the impact of this
one on me came from a completely unexpected source. It wasn't even a show I
regularly watched.
Several years ago while channel surfing I stopped on an episode of
"Blackadder Goes Fourth", a British comedy set in WW1. I had seen a couple
of episodes and found it very funny, with a combination of slapstick and
biting satire. I had stumbled upon the first few minutes of what turned out
to be the series finale. It was biting and funny, as the other episodes I
had seen were, but about 3/4 of the way through, It made the most riveting
turn I had ever seen in any show, much less a comedy. I remember thinking
that it made the finale of mash seem pale by comparison. I don't usually get
choked up at a TV show, the SFU finale being a major exception, but this
left me shaken
. It has been years since I saw it and I wonder now if I am making more out
of it than I should, but tonight I noticed that BBC America is rerunning the
series. I have my DVR set to record the remaining episodes, and it looks
like the one I remember will run in the next week or two. For a show I had
never followed, That final episode made a powerful impression on me at the
time. I don't remember the episode's title but it is the series finale of
the "Blackadder Goes Fourth" series.
Based on the impression that episode made on me, I would recommend checking
it out.

I get BBC. I love Rowan Atkinson. I wanna see something special. Thanks for
the tip.

I have cried at many SFU's. I admit it. I was touched by these shows.
