I heard that if an HMO knows that a 3rd party is responsible for an
injury, they will sue to recover medical costs, and the patient has to
cooperate as part of the contract (it's in the fine print that they
agreed to when sigining the policy).
If it is public information that Uncle Junior shot Tony (there was a
court proceeding about it), wouldn't they take him to civil court and
get the money from him, with Tony forced to testify or pay his own
medical bills? Just applying some 2nd hand legal knowledge here that
HMOs will sue a homeowner if someone slips on their steps and falls,
even if it's a close relative of the injured person.

Insurance companies, investigators, lawyers, etc. go strictly
by the numbers. Only if it's profitable to sue, will they sue:
1) Junior is still a made guy. Suing him would be tantamount
to suing the mob. That sounds like a dangerous proposition.
2) Junior has lost his marbles. Try suing a psychopath ruled
(by the presiding judge) to be incompetent to stand trial,
based on court testimony by board-certified psychiatrists.
3) Junior is flat-broke, at least on paper. You can't squeeze
blood out of a turnip. And if anyone stands to inherit his
pittance of remaining assets, it'd probably be T. Again,
the HMO's lawyers might think twice about suing the mob,
especially given the Skip's recent encounter with their
representative kicking him out of the hospital recovery.
4) The rival Families are going to war, and desperate men do
desperate things. It would be unwise to sue someone who'd
just as soon kill you and your entire family as look at ya.
Also, on another CLOSELY-related subject, namely, the recent
**IMAX "moon-walk" filmed on-location** thread, you shouldn't
blame the likes of Buzz Aldrin & Co. for holding NASA's party
line. Like made guys, they too are sworn to secrecy, on pain
of death and worse, under the pretext of "National Security".
So, even though it's patently obvious to anyone who's looked
at the evidence that the "manned" portions of the 'Apollo TV'
program (which aired back in 1969-1972...covered wagon times)
were little more than the original, inspirational big-budget
top-secret U.S. Government precursors to 'Capricorn One' etc,
don't blame JPL-NASA's spokespersons for holding their party
line. It's their job. They're not at liberty to discuss the
matter; and not only on the record, but also off the record. :-D
Enjoy!
