I haven't noticed anyone mention anything about it--or did I miss it?

I thought it was a bit fluffy at times, the usual "oh I loved working with
the cast" and "I'm going to miss everyone" (as if Michael is going to say
Matthew was a little bitch that he couldn't stand or Matthew mention that
sometimes he just wanted to kick the shit out of that whiney ass Michael--I
thought he was going to pee his pants when he was packing) but there were
some occassional comments that were interesting. I like how Olivia (sic?)
talked about how he could keel over at any second or be hit by some falling
object from the sky and be gone.

It was weird how they made it a part 1 and 2 for no apparent reason and also
that they showed it *before* the series ended.

That would make a good SNL skit: a reunion show where the cast and crew
talk honestly about how much they all hated each other and working on
the show. Instead of the pat "the show was so amazing, we did things no
one else had ever done" quotes, they could talk about how they thought
the show was trash but it paid for their Jaguar.

Thought I'd try responding to two posts at once.

You're talking about that extra they did before the Finale? Seems a
bit redundant when it did pretty much what everybody else hear has been
doing since then - talking about the show (though minusing all that
talk about Brenda's mom - the Bitch). Not to say it was bad - I
enjoyed it. I only picked up on the show about 2 years ago, and missed
seeing the awkward beginnings - Ruth & Claire, Keith & David, Nate &
Brenda, and watching it made it more likely I'd actually watch the
older episodes.

Disagree with him there - sure it was at times a bit on the gooey side,
but having endured "Friends" and hordes of gooey Aaron Spelling shows,
I thought it was quite good. It was interesting to see them out of
character (incl. Rachel Griffith in her non-slave voice), and it was
cute to hear how Lauren Ambrose nearly missed out because she was late
to her first reading - already (if inadvertently) in character.

The problem is that we're already so inundated w/celebrity tell-alls
that there's no novelty. We know that everybody on Batman hated each
other, and everybody on Gilligan's Island hated Tina Louise, and that
the entire galaxy hated Captain Kirk - when you add to the on-screen
dysfunction of the Fishers and those infected by them, that there's no
punch-line to a skit about a hate-reunion.

Not to mention, the off-screen Riann/Frances romance ala David
Cassidy/Shirley Jones and BarryWilliams/Florence Henderson...

What in the world are you talking about?
sorry, I'm on "holiday" the rest of the week... Have you never read about
the off-screen Brady Bunch "goings on" and fantasies the characters had
about each other?

Are you talking about the characters or the real people? Either way,
other than Barry Williams having a kid-crush on Florence Henderson,
none of the people you mentioned were romantically involved in real
life. (And, FYI, Shirley Jones was David Cassidy's stepmother.)

I believe Somebody is eluding to the rumors that went around regarding the
relationships in real life. And there were some. :)

Who are you talking about? Frances Conroy has been married for several
years. I seriously doubt she had any romantic involvement with Rainn
Wilson.

Neither did the others, Patricia. It was a joke. Remember those?

You're interested enough to be all high and mighty, humorless and
caustic...oh, shame on me...you're a troll! :)

I'm the one trying to discuss SFU with other fans of the show; you're
the one trying to pick a fight with a total stranger. I believe that
makes you, by definition, the troll. Again, I'm sorry if the end of a
single TV show has left you at such loose ends that you have nothing
better to live for that trying to stir up shit with a stranger on
usenet, but that's your life, not mine. So, for the last time, I'm not
interested. Either talk about SFU, find yourself another TV show to
occupy your time, or (and here's a radical thought), stop staring at a
screen of one variety or another and go meet some real people you can
piss off in person. Good luck!
