In this episode, we begin somewhere in the 1970's at a party. There is a
girl and a guy high on acid (LSD). The guy takes the girl to the rooftop,
and he jumps off, thinking he can fly. Of course he dies, and we're left
with the days of birth and death on his tombstone.

So how does this fit into the episode? I don't (obviously) get it.

The guy was cremated and his cremains were never claimed by his family. The
Fishers hung on to them until years later when Nate decided to try to pass
off the cremains as Lisa's. Lisa's family assumed they had her cremains and
Nate was free to bury Lisa's body in the desert.
