Post by Patricia ButlerI thought it looked absolutely fabulous and really did justice to the
house as a whole. What I didn't really get was how much time was
supposed to have elapsed between Keith and David deciding to buy the
house, and us seeing the renovations. Claire hadn't left for her job
yet, so it could have been all that long, could it? I've had
contractors take months just to replace a light switch cover, let alone
make all the changes these guys made. Anyone get a sense for how long
this was supposed to have taken?
It was several months later, I'm guessing. Nate died on May 21, the next
episode starts out six weeks later--- David mentions this to someone. Maya
was with staying with Ruth all that time, and then for a few weeks more,
which would have put Brenda delivering Willa in mid July, likely, and likely
not home from the hospital for a while, being such a preemie. Claire's
original NYC job was to have begun in early December, and I'm also guessing
that a month or two elapsed from the time when Claire finds out about the
job offer and when she leaves, by which time David and Keith had easily
finished their renovations and moved in.
I haven't gone back and rewatched these episodes (other than the last 10
minutes of "Ecotone" and the brilliant "Everyone's Waiting"), so this is
just based on my sketchy memory.
