Tonight on "Crossing Jordan" there was a scene where Lily tells a woman "
This authorizes us to release your husbands body to Fisher & Sons Funeral
Home."
More wistful fans I think.

I caught that too! It was a sweet homage to the show; I don't think it was
just a coincidence. Have you noticed the influx of character actors that
swap back and forth between NBC and HBO? Tons!

I've seen swaps between
Homicide and Oz
Homicide and the Wire (2 actors)
Sopranos and Law and Order
Law and Order and OZ
The Wire and Law and Order (the latest one)
The Wire and Law and Order (original)
Oz and Law and Order SVU

NBC Universal does not seem to have an affiliation with HBO, which if I am
not mistaken is a part of AOL TIME WARNER.

Maybe they use the same casting agent. I know that someone who was key in
the creation of the show Homicide was also key in the creation of the Wire.
I love those shows.

In addition I worked for Universal for 3 years and would still be there
today if they did not close there business office in South FL. I loved the
work and the people. Great Bunch-Many SFU fans.

I just figured out a connection, don't know if it is the reason. I think
Alan Ball's American Beauty was released by Universal (now owned by NBC)
plus there is that casting issue.
