Will Rome Return?

Does anyone know if Rome will return for a 2nd season?
Ideally, Yes. The times of Augustus, surely the greatest
classic Roman emperor (e.g., father of the country) were
amazing at least. But whether Vorenus and Pullo can hold
on living in the flesh through the turn of the millennia
is in question. But if either or both of them should die
before hand, they could stay on as earth-bound (grounded)
ghosts, or else as spirits in visitation, like 'Six Feet
Under' episodes did so frequently.
As with so many of HBOs shows 'Rome' is absolutely great!
Let's hope they've got the wherewithall to continue into
another season, and hopefully more.
HBO has the BEST Series. Witha a few exceptions ( Entourage, and that
other one ) I love them all. For my money , I will take an evening of
HBO reruns over almost anything else.
Their casting and writing is superb..

I agree 1000%! HBO is definitely numero uno for great series,
great original movies, great comedy, and great boxing, too...

I still think that the final episode of 'Six Feet Under' was
unequivocally the *best* single television episode I've even
seen in my fourty-eight years of life, bar none.

I noticed other replies here saying that 'Rome' will be back
in a couple of years, perhaps to allow the soon to be Caesar,
AVGVSTVS GAIVS JVLIVS CAESAR OCTAVIANVS, time enough to look
old enough to convincingly play his more mature role thereof. :-D

Enjoy!

I have watched that episode several times and agree it was the finest
ending of any program.
Each time I watch it , I pick up something that was missed.
When 6FU was on, I really liked it but not as much as ... say Rome, or
The Sopranos, but enough to always watch it. But the way they finished
it, gave the whole series and the past few years, new life.

I'll shamelessly digress to gratuitous preaching about this...

For me, the magic of the final 'Six Feet Under' episode was
its emphasis on the pristine finality of death without hope,
entirely devoid of spiritual knowledge or psychic awareness,
strictly focused on the mortal human physical mind and body
without any reference to man's immortal psyche or soul body
who lives eternally in the respective heavenly realms a.k.a.
dimensions, or spheres, or planes, or sojourns as these are
often called. Its the proverbial dream within the dream, as
even the physical life can appear illusory to the unwitting.
It's really a cultural thing. The west has been dumbed down
for centuries regarding man's real nature as gods-incarnate.

That final episode of SFU gave me an inside look at how the
atheist-agnostics view life and death. It made me feel very
empathetic--more at sympathetic--with them, with the gloomy,
funereal sorrow and physically heart-wrenching lamentations
they suffer in the presence of the grim Scythe of time, the
harsh by letters Kappa, Kronos, grand King of terror, Death
and Hades/Pluto's broad one-way door to oblivion: the Abyss
towards which more loving souls elevate to the right(light),
whereas more hating souls descend to the left(darkness...!).

Perhaps the best lesson learned from the SFU finale is that
it helps to see the CONTRAST between the light and darkness,
analogous to how, after adjusting to the darkness, striking
a single match in a subterranean cavern starkly illuminates
the whole with but an exiguous flame...ok, enough preaching,
back to 'Rome', and the Olympian Gods of the pantheion. :-D

Enjoy!
