Anyone know if the Emmys honor individual episodes? I certainly think
SFU's last was worthy.

I don't think individual eps are nominated _per se_.

However, I'm aware that writers, directors and actors must submit
specific eps to be considered for nomination -- which means Alan Ball
might chose to submit the finale for both writing and directing nominations.

David Lee won Emmys for directing "The Matchmaker" (S2) and "To Kill A
Talking Bird" (S4) for FRASIER. For S5 he submitted "The Ski Lodge",
but was not nominated.

Writers and directors win for specific episodes. Actors submit one
episode as their best of the season - so that the Academy members
aren't expected to watch all of any show to determine if an actor is
good or not.

The 6FU finale will not be elligible for the Emmys that are broadcast
in two weeks time, though. It will be elligible for next year's
awards, though with it being off air for over twelve months by then
makes it unlikely to be considered - especially as The Sopranos will
have returned by then! (Unfortunately.)

You know, I think I'm thinking of when "guest" celebrities are nominated
based upon their performances in specific episodes...thanks for the info
everyone. :)

I though the ending was special, and I hoped it would be singled out for an
award.
