Final Sequence: Claire pulls away, Nate jogs after her, cue the song,
then:

2005 - Ruth opens dog-sitting service - we see her and Bettina tossing
a ball to the dogs - they're obviously happy

2005 - Keith had said that Durrell wants to be a fireman, but then
David is shown teaching him about embalming (at current age) -
suggesting that Durrell might end up taking over the business.

2010 - David, 41, & Keith's, 42, wedding - what a handsome couple! -
Brenda is seen in the front row holding hands with a man – is it Joe?
I can’t tell - he has Willa on his lap (she’s 4 or 5); Maya is next to
Brenda (10 or 11) - Brenda looks pregnant - Rico & Vanessa are there;
so are Ruth & George; Claire takes pictures.

2025: Ruth's deathbed - George is 20 years older, David is 56, Claire
is 42 - Ruth looks up and sees Nathaniel and Nate – at the same age as
we saw them during the series - then she dies - the last thing she
sees before she closes her eyes and dies at 79 is her son Nate
standing in the doorway of the room in t-shirt and jogging shorts
smiling at her - George is devastated - (no specific revelation of
actual cause of death) - 1946-2025 (This is the one that choked me up
the most.)

2025 - Ruth's burial - Anthony is sitting next to Keith - Durrell is
now working with David in the business - Ted comes to the burial.
Claire is surprised to see him.

2029 - Armored car scene - CHARLES SECURITY on side - Keith, 61, opens
rear door – has grey goatee - he instantly gets shot and killed by two
robbers - 1968-2029

2030? - Ted & Claire's wedding - what a handsome couple!

2044 - Picnic - Brenda is 75 – Claire is 61 - David is 75; David is
seated next to Durrell (who is now in his 50s) - David looks up and
suddenly sees Keith as he was when he was young (35 or so) - he's
playing football with the kids at the picnic and looks over lovingly
at David - David looks upward and dies - 1969-2044

2049 - Cruise ship - Rico & Vanessa are seated in deck chairs – Rico
is 74 and heavy – he gets up, takes a few steps, collapses & dies -
1974-2049

2051 - Billy & Brenda - looks like Billy's in a mental hospital -
Brenda is 82 - as Billy rambles on, Brenda dies quietly in her chair -
we then hear Billy calling, "Bren? Bren?" 1969-2051

2085 - Claire's deathbed - photos all over the walls – some of her
art, some of family, some of Ted - she's all alone except for a nurse
- close-up on Claire’s staring, open blue eyes covered with cataracts
- she then dies at the age of 102 - 1983-2085

Then we fade into young Claire's beautiful, clear blue eyes now as she
drives away - into the Mojave - the camera pulls up and back, slowly
into the sky.

Fade to white.

Okay, who is Jack?
The Leonardo DiCaprio character in "Titanic". I was attempting a funny.
Sorry.
Don't apologize, I'm afraid for some of us it was just too obscure to
understand. Besides, when you said it I thought that Claire had decended a
staircase to talk to Lisa in a dream sequence where Lisa is dead...so I'm
thinking "Jack?" as well.
That was up a flight, wasn't it? IIRC there was a shot of them from the
floor below at one point.

David wasn't sitting next to Durrell at the picnic, it was his new
"husband." Read the obit for David.
