I saw $3.09. I commute by bike and haven't filled my tank in about 2 months
though... Had to drive this week because of all the rain and the needle is
almost on E... But GW said not to buy gas unless I need to.

over here!

the Midwest (which oddly is nowhere near the Mideast)

btw, have you ever had the urge to just go out and buy some gas when you
really didn't need it? Sort of like ice cream, sometimes you just the
impulse to go out and buy a gallon?

LOL, definitely not! Gasoline will never taste as good as ice cream.

Well, not sure about the US, but I was in England earlier this week, before
the hurricane, and the price there was about US$6.50 a US Gallon. Though
since then, there was an 8.5¢ a US gallon tax increase that went into
effect yesterday. An lord knows what will happen now!

Here in Ontario, prices have jumped from about US$3.00 a US gallon at
the beginning of the week, to about US$4.00 a US gallon today. Looks
to me the USA still has the cheapest gasoline going!

Which is exactly what the big oil companies were shooting for.
They are jacking the prices high enough that we will long for
the days when gas was "only" 3 bucks a gallon. They did the
same thing when it went over 2 bucks.

The day before the hike, I paid $2.749. Some expert on the
radio said that despite Katrina, fuel supplies were plentiful;
Baby Bush was going to open the national fuel reserves; fuel
prices in WI would rise about 20 cents by the weekend. The
*very next day*, prices had shot up 65 cents a gallon, and the
government is telling me there is no evidence of price gouging.

"Thank you, Sir, may I have another!"

Hmm, and just paid US$4.26 a US gallong this evening. Hmm, not sure
why it is climbing more in Canada than in the USA!

I'm in southern Calif. between L.A. & San Diego, I paid $2.90 this evening.
That was a jump of 5 cents from yesterday's prices. I saw a news report
last week that it was $4.00 on Catalina Island. Accordingly the stores
prices are going up, cost of delivery. It is not just gas prices we will
all have to deal with soon.

Isn't Catalina Island always higher due to the location and having few

this keyboard? now that is waaay OT. LOL) Can't afford a Prius but a Vespa

well said... but there is still plenty to talk about. And there's still
the season 5 DVDs and extras to talk about someday. And the actors and
directors and writers will surely be doing new and interesting things.
(Noticed a poster of the new Jim Jarmusch movie at the mini-mall near me and
Frances Conroy is listed. I've got to see that!)

I'd like to know is what this has to do with SFU:

I am with Tina on this one. I understand keeping on topic, but I am a
little reluctant to see this group go. I found this group only a few months
ago. I read a lot of different groups & only 1 out of 10 is really
interesting and/or helpful. This group is usually thoughtful,
thought-provoking, insightful & nice. I am going to miss it.
