It sounds like on the extras they are saying something like "Krow-say". I
thought it was just "Krowse"

I recall it being pronounced to rhyme with "yowsa" at the Emmys many
times, as well as on entertainment shows.

If so, then I'm doing so second hand. I didn't see it myself, so I
must have heard or read it somewhere.

Seems to me that would make it *more* likely he'd say it
accidentally. Maybe it wasn't from a cue card after all, maybe he'd
just been told backstage that's how it's pronounced.

Krause is a German name.
