now that SFU is SFU what's everyone going to do tonight to fill the void?

there's nothing on cable for sure, i'm not a reader, looks like i'll just
have to play on my computer.

i'll sure miss SFU.

so, what are the chances that some executive in hollywood offers AB a ton of
money to make a SFU motion picture?

on the one hand, you'd think it's not possible, on the other, i trust in AB,
that he could pull it off and create a very cool SFU movie.

i wonder if SFU has national appeal?

i guess from this NG it does.

Hmmm.... not especially surprising that they put their new serial
on the night and in the time slot where they've been airing their
dramatic series _of_the_moment_,,, its the spot they use for the
Sopranos, the Wire, and those other shows I don't watch....

Actually, Rome is more like The Sopranos. Violence, sex, power,
politics.

I think "Big Love" the show about a polygamist, is more likely to
inherit the mantle of the quirky contemporary drama from SFU.

I haven't heard about Big Love yet. When does it start? it is on HBO?

Maybe after Rome does its run? Or after Sopranos does it's 12 ep run?

Yes it's an HBO show.

Yeah, I'll watch "Rome" as well, but that doesn't guarantee I'd stay
with it. I watched the debut ep of "The Comeback" and it did nothing
for me, I turned it off before it was over, haven't gone back.

I've seen the finale of SFU 3 times, and the final 15 minutes 6 times.
For those that ask "are you haunted by....?" Uh, yeah.... I need to
take a break from it, but I will miss SFU, though a better finale
could not have been conceived....

The Roman decade? Well that puts a new perspective on the Roman Empire.

That's the way I felt about Deadwood and Carnivale. I liked "The
Comeback" but it's not "appointment TV" for me. I will give Rome a
try tonight and I am looking forward to the return of Curb Your

goose bumps.

?? How often do you see a kid get killed, a major player get shot, the lead
player have prehistoric surgery compounded by a stroke and a serial killer
carving up the local whores all in one season of a western??

now that SFU is SFU what's everyone going to do tonight to fill the void?
I'm working tonight, actually. If I weren't, I'd probably take a jaunt
on the treadmill, now that I've got a CD player that runs MP3-encoded
CD's.

i'll sure miss SFU.
Me too, but in all honesty, and with no disrespect to anybody intended,
I'm a bit ashamed of how much emotion I've attached to fictitious
characters and their problems.
Post by tigercat
so, what are the chances that some executive in hollywood offers AB a ton of
money to make a SFU motion picture?
I think those Hollywood execs are smart enough to leave well-enough
alone. More than likely, we'll get roles for Krause, Conroy, Griffith
and the rest that will build on their SFU personas. Soembody else
raised the 6FU connection w/"American Beauty", and watching "Everyone's
Waiting" last night, I could sort of see it. We have the self-loathing
daughter AND the artist (as two separate characters) the bitchy
assertive woman who doesn't want to admit she's middle-aged, the gay
couple & Mena Suvari. I haven't decided whether Lester Burnham has
more in common with George or Nate.
Post by tigercat

that he could pull it off and create a very cool SFU movie.
AB is probably capable because he's smart enough to resist the lure of
movie/show franchises. Picking up the story, BTW, erodes the emotional
value of the last show, which was pretty much, that it was over.

Hurricane coverage.

Now if they could just arrange a large natural disaster (somewhere else
besides central Indiana) for the next 12 weeks or so, maybe I can taper off
this SFU high...

Me, too. We should start a news junkie newsgroup.

My brother and I can call each other, day or night, for breaking news
stories. That started back when the Olympics got bombed and continued since
then. I got him up (from nightshift sleep) just in time to see the second
tower explode on 9/11. I almost couldn't get my SIL to give him the phone
because he had just fallen asleep. Now it's just SOP to call each other
when something happens. Can't miss a good rare news footage moment.

I went to the MN State Fair to see the Gear Daddies concert. Oh, and
to eat much deep-fried food and to drink beer, of course. :)~~~~
