In the HBO special "Six Feet Under 2001-2005" there's a segment about the
"interesting" deaths they do that the beginnings of shows and there's one
that seems to be a woman in her backyard getting conked by a bluish object
falling from the sky. I assume it's a chunk of waste that fell off an
airliner. Thing is, I thought I'd seen every episode and don't remember that
one.

Does anyone remember an episode that began with that particular cause of
death? Or perhaps was it one they didn't use but put it in the special.

I remember it, but not specifically which episode. I just devoured all
first four seasons in the past few weeks. It's a blurr.

I don't remember what episode. I at first thought of episode 37 in the
third season entitled, "Death Works Overtime." This is the episode where
George and Ruth first meet and where Margaret threw Bern's cremains over the
railing of her condo proclaiming something to the effect of "There! Now
he'll be in Westwood forever!" But now I don't think I have the correct
episode.

I am also unsure if I remember the details of the COTW correctly where the
blue ice was involved. The way I remember it is a father and his young
daughter released a bird that they had evidently nursed back to health. The
bird flies off and eventually craps on this guy. (This happened to me once.
It wasn't fun.) The guy goes into a convenience store to use the restroom
to get himself cleaned up. The worker (owner??) at the convenience store
tells him that the toilet is out of order and not to try to use it. The guy
promises that he will only use the sink. The guy wound up using the toilet
and flushed it. This resulted in the toilet overflowing and water going
everywhere. Very upset, the convenience store worker calls his wife to tell
her he will be late coming home that night. Seems that he called her on her
cell phone. She had bad reception and couldn't hear what he was trying to
say. She then walked out to her backyard with hopes of improving her
reception. Clunk! A big chunk of blue ice fell from the sky and killed
her. If my memories ARE correct, it was definitely one of the more creative
and amusing COTW stories.
